Daniel Farke is not a huge believer in fate or destiny but sealing Championship promotion for Norwich City in his 100th game in charge would be extra special.

Farke clocks up a century in Good Friday’s Championship home game against Sheffield Wednesday that could turn into a Carrow Road party.

City’s place in the Premier League would be confirmed if they win and the Owls’ bitter rivals, Sheffield United, lose earlier in the day to Nottingham Forest.

“It is pretty remarkable but I know for sure Steve Bruce will not come here with a gift for me and my 100th game,” said Farke. “I am pretty sure he wants the points. It is a nice number and a good one to look back on.

“All I can say is these 100 games have been a lot of fun, or at least most of them have been. My focus is not my personal record, I just want to win a football match against Sheffield Wednesday.

“I was told about this. I wasn’t aware before then. It feels a bit crazy. Sometimes when I speak to journalists they are asking me how I have settled in here in England, and now I have 100 games.

“In Germany, you would need three or four seasons to reach this mark. I feel like one of the longest serving coaches in the Championship.

“I remember when Alex Tettey got to 200, I think, for the club earlier this season I told him that is not remarkable. You have to be here with 500 or a 1,000. Hopefully I can go in a similar direction, but I don’t take it for granted.”

Farke knows his side will be promoted if they win both their Easter games, irrespective of what happens to promotion rivals.

“We are not getting too far ahead. We have four games with this group of players and we will go into each one looking to win,” said Farke, who revealed he will be with his squad at Colney when the Blades are in lunchtime action.

“We have no chance to do anything about that game. Listen, we can’t avoid the result and we won’t look to avoid it.

“We are not scared of results elsewhere. But we have to concentrate on what we can influence.

“It does nothing for us if we are 1pc or 2pc concentrated on the other games. At this stage of the season anything can happen.

“We could be promoted very quickly or by the end of the season we can be in position three in the table.

“We are not addicted to the table.”
