Daniel Farke insists Norwich City’s new faces give them a real shot at pulling off a Premier League ‘miracle’.

Midfield duo Ondrej Duda and Lukas Rupp both made their debuts in the 1-0 top flight home win over Bournemouth that revived the Canaries' flagging survival hopes.

City now head to Tottenham on Wednesday, and that means more major selection headaches for Farke, with the likes of Mario Vrancic, Moritz Leitner and Ibrahim Amadou not even making the bench against the Cherries.

"For me as a coach some unbelievably tough, perhaps even strict and strange decisions, when you regard the quality of the player we have to leave out," he said. "Top quality players and top characters were not even in the squad.

"If I'm honest this was exactly the situation we had to work on, to give ourselves a chance to achieve this miracle.

"We have the responsibility to try everything to stay in this league.

"That means doing everything we can and if it doesn't work we know we have done all we can. A big compliment to Stuart (Webber) we were able to bring these players in.

"When good players come in it's always healthy for the lads who were here because they can look around and feel this is a proper group.

"When you watched the intensity of the training (before Bournemouth) it was top class and probably the first time during this whole season we had four centre backs available, three strikers available, and there was unbelievable competition.

"We actually had to hold them back a bit to make sure it wasn't too intense. It means of course each player out there has to impress and deliver at training to be picked."

City could be even further adrift from safety before kick off at Spurs' new stadium, with a host of relegation rivals in action on Tuesday.

Bournemouth host Brighton, while fellow strugglers Aston Villa and Watford meet at Villa Park

"We are not over-excited because we know it is a long road. We said seven wins before Bournemouth, one box is ticked but we need six more from 15 games," said Farke. "We need to add some draws as well. Without any doubt we want to work on this miracle.

"It is good for the mood, the confidence and the table.

"We can read the table like everyone else and we knew that a loss (against Bournemouth) would have made the gap even bigger. It is good for the belief."
