John Ruddy deserves his Carrow Road homecoming - but Angus Gunn is the man for Norwich City boss Daniel Farke.
Ruddy will be the last line of defence for Wolves in Tuesday’s Championship clash, after his surprise summer departure following seven years service with the Canaries.
Norwich’s top brass recruited Manchester City youngster Gunn on a season-long loan and the 21-year-old has not disappointed.
“It is an honour to work with him every day and he is a big talent,” said Farke. “John is a very good, experienced guy. A pretty good goalkeeper and for him it will be a nice experience to come back to Carrow Road and feel that relationship again with the fans.
“On the other side, I am totally happy to be allowed to work with Angus Gunn. He is a brilliant guy and right now I wouldn’t change Angus for any other goalkeeper. I am content to work with him. He is the guy for the future.
“I don’t want to put pressure on Manchester City because I don’t think that would work with a club like that but it wouldn’t be a bad decision if he could stay for longer because Carrow Road is his living room.
“He belongs here, and with his father as well, I am happy to be allowed to work with Angus.”

City’s bid to develop young talent contrasts sharply with big-spending Wolves.
“I want to win each and every home game. I am also realistic and I know in this game we are not the favourite, 100pc,” said Farke. “When I compare Wolves with us they can engage a really experienced goalkeeper in John Ruddy.
“We had Angus Gunn, who had never played in the Championship. Compare the midfield situation. They bought (Ruben) Neves for £15m from Porto, a 20-year-old who captained Porto at 17.
“He is a key player for them. Our key player is James Maddison, 20 as well, but he had never played in the Championship starting line up.
“Now I like our way, I wouldn’t change it and I am convinced it is the right way.
“I want to work with James Maddison and Angus Gunn, brilliant guys, but two very different ways. Our way we chose to go with developing young players and build something for the future. Look at the heart of our side on Saturday. James, Harrison Reed, 22, and Tom Trybull, 24.
“We want to go down this path. Wolves have a high quality team. You only need to look at the value of the players on their bench. It is a big task but we will be rebellious again.
“We want to be competitive and we will fight for points. We are hungry for this.”
