Norwich City defender Grant Hanley will let no-one down at Tottenham, after earning a Premier League reprieve following Ben Godfrey’s red card.

Hanley was left out for the 1-0 win over Bournemouth, with Godfrey returning ahead of schedule from a knee injury.

But his rash late tackle on Callum Wilson means the 22-year-old is banned for three games - starting with Wednesday's test at Spurs - and City number one Tim Krul is backing the experienced Scot to step up.

"Grant has been amazing when Ben hasn't been there, so he will slip right in (at Tottenham)," said Krul, who insists Daniel Farke's squad travel buoyed by that vital Cherries' victory. "It's a shame for Benji, because he's just come back and he's not an easy person to have on the sidelines, in no way.

"In my opinion, he's such a committed boy and that's what you want from your defenders, but unfortunately it didn't go his way on that tackle. Ben made a great block in the second half as well, so he needs to not be too harsh on himself.

"We all know what we need to do and I believe that we've got enough in the squad, I really do, as I look around me in the changing room. It's a hard task, but we just have to beat the teams around us and we've still got to play them all.

"Even Watford away and Newcastle away, they are going to be the teams who are in and around us. If we can keep them locked in around us then March, April, May is going to be interesting."

Krul is wary of Tottenham's attacking threat, even without injured captain Harry Kane, after a pulsating 2-2 draw at Carrow Road over Christmas.

Norwich were full value for a point in a game marred by another VAR intervention that chalked off Teemu Pukki's first half strike.

"They're a top team, Son up front is so fast and has so much quality," he said. "We deserved more than a draw (at home), so we don't go there afraid, we go there with confidence.

"We know we need to win another six and that's the most important thing. Nobody is expecting us to go there and play them off the park, but we've been good the last two or three months.

"I felt we let ourselves down a little (at Manchester United) but what a reaction. Let's go there and not be afraid of the occasion, take the bull by the horns and build on the Bournemouth win."
