Tim Krul is craving another ‘magical night’ at Carrow Road ahead of the visit of Manchester United on Sunday.

City's fit-again number one returned from a two-game injury absence to play a key role in earning a first away point of the season, during Saturday's 0-0 draw at Bournemouth.

After three successive defeats that clean sheet has calmed nerves significantly, with a host of players returning from injury alongside Krul, including midfielders Alex Tettey and Tom Trybull.

"If you concede in the last minute then obviously the morale would be lower than low but now we're going into the Manchester United game on a right high and with the boys back," the Dutchman said.

"We got really valuable minutes for a lot of the boys, so bring it on at Carrow Road, let's create another magical night like we did against Man City."

That epic 3-2 win over the champions last month remains the inspiration for what Daniel Farke's squad are capable of, before welcoming Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's off-form United.

Yet the following game saw Krul struggle through a 2-0 defeat at Burnley, with the 31-year-old explaining just how painful his injury had been, after returning to Premier League action at the weekend.

"I threw a ball to the halfway line and literally ripped my whole side," he explained. "It was one of those apparent cricket injuries, when you open up and your obliques are torn in all places.

"So it was horrible in the warm up, because I didn't want to come off, and I ended up staying for 90 minutes. It was a bad tear but luckily it's healed quickly, so I'm really happy with that.

"Even in the game, I couldn't shout, so at half-time I nearly came off. The boss asked me for another 45 minutes and luckily we didn't have too many shots so I managed to get through."

Krul missed the 2-0 loss at Palace, in which Ralf Fahrmann had to limp off with a groin strain after just 20 minutes, bringing Michael McGovern into action at Selhurst Park and during a 5-1 home loss to Villa.

"The last few weeks have been difficult but we've learned a few things," Krul added, as the injury crisis finally eases. "I'm not feeling anything any more, so I'm really happy with that."
