Ben Godfrey captained England’s Under-21s in a busy night for Norwich City’s international contingent - but Max Aarons limped off with a suspected left ankle injury.
Aarons was named man of the match in a 2-0 win against Kosovo's U21s at Hull City's KCOM stadium but departed after an awkward tumble, clutching his left knee initially late in the second half. But the City defender later confirmed afterwards it was his left ankle that was the source of the injury scare.
Club mate Todd Cantwell also came on in the 60th minute for Aidy Boothroyd's squad to earn a second consecutive U21 European Championship qualifying win after beating Turkey's U21s 3-2 on Friday.
In Euro2020 action elsewhere, Jamal Lewis started for Northern Ireland who lost 2-0 to World Champions Germany in Belfast. Kenny McLean was also in the Scotland starting line who lost 4-0 against Belgium.
