Group Football Editor Paddy Davitt has posted his marks following the Canaries’ 1-0 Premier League reverse at Chelsea.

Here is Paddy’s verdict on Daniel Farke’s men, who in the main proved resolute bar one defensive lapse. But again it was not enough to earn points, allied to another tame offering up front.

• Tim Krul

Should start clearing some space on his mantlepiece for player-of-the-year. Performances like this are why. Fine tip over from Christian Pulisic in the first half. A double stop from Pulisic again and Marcos Alonso after the break. 7

• Max Aarons

With City willingly conceding territory and possession always going to be very difficult to get over the halfway line to spark attacks. 6

• Ben Godfrey

Excellent anticipation to foil Olivier Giroud at his near post. But lost Pulisic run for second half chance. 6

• Timm Klose

Terribly testing return after long term injury continued. Dismissively brushed aside by Giroud for the winning header 5

• Jamal Lewis

Ambition shown first half to whip in a couple of crosses. 6

• Alex Tettey (C)

Good tussle with Kovacic. Passing not always accurate. 6

• Todd Cantwell

Really showed a lot of early discipline in this shape to help screen in front of Aarons. But just one invitation for Pulisic to cut inside was all it took to settle the game. 6

• Lukas Rupp

Retains Farke’s trust in a defensively-minded screening role. Can certainly read a game. Offered nothing progressive. 6

• Kenny McLean

When fit, it seems he will play. One strike hit Azpilicueta. 6

• Onel Hernandez

Like Cantwell, got through plenty of defensive work. His one major lapse allowed Azpilcueta to get in a curling effort over the bar. 6

• Josip Drmic

Another fitful offering. Sloppy at times in open play, when his team might have benefitted from a breather. 5
