Stuart Webber insists he has it all to prove again in the Premier League with Norwich City.

The club's sporting director was labelled a "genius" by joint majority shareholder Delia Smith for plotting a surprise Championship title win.

Webber headhunted Daniel Farke to help trigger a superb turnaround, on and off the pitch.

The Welshman makes no secret of his desire to work abroad at some point, and has already rejected overtures from the Premier League during his Carrow Road stint.

"The next step, on a personal level, is to prove I can do something in the Premier League, under difficult circumstances," he said. "I am committed, but it would be wrong of me to say what might happen in the future.

"The club might not want to keep me. But we have work to do. This is just the start here and we have good people around us and I am fortunate I get some praise.

"Likewise, 12 months ago I got a bit of stick. I am grateful and fortunate to work here for great owners. I am ambitious I have always said I would like to work abroad one day. But who knows when that will be.

"From the club side, this group of players and staff have stayed true to our beliefs.

"They are not just words on a wall. We were on a really slippy slope, financially, but we had to come up with a way of reinventing what we did. You can have the best recruitment in the world but if the culture is not right it doesn't work."

Teemu Pukki spearheaded Norwich's surprise Championship promotion success, after arriving on a free transfer last summer.

The Finnish international won a number of individual awards for plundering 33 goals in 54 appearances for club and country.

"Everyone would be lying if they said we knew he would come in and score 29 league goals and we would get automatic promotion. That is a lie," said Webber.

"Did we feel Teemu could come into the squad and make a real impact and score a few goals? Yes. But you need a bit of luck, the same with the consistency of our younger players for 30-odd games.

"Hard work and togetherness. Nothing can be achieved if people don't stick together and go in the same direction. You have to have a real belief in the plan.

"Whether that is late goals, late winners or digging in for a clean sheet at some tough places."
