Todd Cantwell’s impressive Premier League debut season has reportedly alerted Manchester United.

The Dereham attacking midfied talent notched his sixth top flight goal of the season in Wednesday's 1-1 Premier League draw against Crystal Palace.

Cantwell has established himself as a regular under Daniel Farke this campaign and earned his first England Under-21 call up.

Now the Daily Mail claim the 21-year-old, who they rate at £30m, has been 'added' to United's summer target list. The report also claims Manchester City have been longer term admirers of the rising talent.

United's recruitment policy has shifted under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, with the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Dan James both arriving at Old Trafford this season.

Cantwell reportedly fits the mould of young, British-bred talent that has also seen the likes of James Maddison, Aston Villa's Jack Grealish and Newcastle's Sean Longstaff previously linked to possible Old Trafford moves in the future.

City's best young talent continues to be touted with some of the biggest Premier League hitters, although Farke reiterated ahead of the opening of the January transfer window there is no pressure on the club to sell.

Max Aarons, Ben Godfrey and Emi Buendia have all been regular staples in transfer speculation.

Farke had to respond to reports touting Aarons with Tottenham over the festive period.

"I am not worried at all about any bidding, if there is interest in our players it means that we are doing many things alright," he Farke. "Our situation has changed, in the last transfer windows we always had to sell our best players. At the moment, if we are honest we cannot afford really top class players, but we don't have to sell any players and that's a good situation.

"We need Max for the whole season for that there is no scenario where we would sell one of our top players (in January).

"Our financial situation is quite relaxed and we know that we need all our key players to have a chance of creating a big sensation (and surviving).

"For that we are not tempted at all to sell our best players. In this situation you never know, sometimes there is an unbelievable offer and the club decides to do some business but we are in such a comfortable situation that I don't expect any business."
