Shotley Rose Ladies 3, Brandon Lasses Ladies 5

Brandon Ladies took an early lead when Charlotte Howard worked well down the left and put in a quality ball that the home defender could only turn into her own net.

Charlotte immediately worked the keeper again forcing a good save but the Lasses were guilty of switching off as Shotley then equalised.

They responded well with good strong play from Laura Brame setting up Charlotte for a good finish.

The home side could have got straight back into the game, forcing a good stop from the Brandon keeper.

A good delivery from a Dayna Howard corner was headed home by Charlotte for her second but the Lasses would have been disappointed as Shotley pulled a goal back right on half-time.

Charlotte completed a well-taken hat-trick and Laura Brame made it five with a well-deserved goal to take the game out of Shotley's reach but they did not sit back and pulled another back in the last few minutes.

This was a match that in which the Lasses looked much better going forward with Chelsea Nobles looking strong up front, holding the ball well and showing some neat touches playing in the other strikers.

A good three points and team performance!

Brandon Lasses U11 1, Horsford Youth U11 2

Brandon Lasses failed to make the same start as they had in previous games.

They were caught napping when Horsford played the ball straight through the middle and scored in the first five minutes.

The rest of the first half saw an evenly matched battle between the Lasses and Horsford midfield until Horsford broke through and scored their second goal just before the half-time whistle.

Lasses started the second half much brighter and were soon making chances, Millie Bales and Jess Whybrow both having chances soon after the start.

Ruby Robertson and Lucy Page were both outstanding at the back, both making some excellent decisions, Katie Page and Freya Heyward also played their part during the game.

The midfield of Leah Zawiasa, Georgia Dargan and Suzy Duggan were doing their job of holding off Horsford and trying to put the Lasses through on goal.

Their determination paid off and five minutes from the end Lucy Page found the net with an excellent shot from just outside the box.

Lasses kept the pressure on trying to find an equaliser in the last few minutes with three corners but Horsford managed to hang on.

PoM: Ruby Robertson.
