Norwich City manager Nigel Worthington today confirmed defender Simon Charlton would be leaving the club this summer after two seasons at Carrow Road.

“Simon has served us very well in his time here,” said Worthington. “He's got great experience and he's a great professional, but there always comes a time for people to move on.

“This is a chance to freshen and bring younger legs in. It is simply his age more than anything else.”

Charlton has made 49 senior appearances for City so far, scoring twice.
