Norwich City finally overcame their away day blues with a rousing second half, that in gusty conditions, resulted in four goals, and with it the three deserved points, at Sparrows Lane.

Both teams coming into this match had fine League wins the previous week over Chelsea and Southampton respectively.

The heart of the Norwich defence was reunited with David Stephens, whom along with Dario Dumic, both formidable in last seasons Youth Cup, again showed a more resolute bonding throughout this encounter.

With five goals conceded in both of their last two excursions, Norwich rolled up their sleeves and went about their mission.

On 14 minutes after a neat pass, found Kelly inside the penalty area, and although attempted to bypass Binks in the Charlton goal, the latter diverted the ball for a corner.

23 minutes and Osemwegie held the ball in midfield, and then slipped it to Kelly, before the Irishman bearing down on goal, only to shoot wide of the right hand post.

The Norwich midfield was driving forward at every opportunity and led by Francomb, who showed utmost determination, especially in winning the ball.

Following a Habergham corner, and with Charlton taking too long to clear, a Dumic downward header forced Carter to clear from his goal line.

On 37 minutes, Norwich realistically should have been in front, after a Habergham left wing low cross, with the ball clipping a defender's leg, which saw Kelly racing in, poke the ball goalwards, from close range, only to see Binks, stand his ground, with the ball rebounding from his chest.

With Norwich now with the advantage of the elements, took just eight second half minutes to open the scoring.

A quick delivered ball from midfield, and there was Francomb, like a flash of lightning, opening the Charlton defence to strike home just inside the penalty area past Binks to net in the far corner.

69 minutes, and the best worked goal from Norwich which Ricky Martin would have been absolutely proud of.

Numerous passes from midfield, along the right flank, back and forth, then the killer delivery by Dawkins inside the crowded penalty area, into Kelly, who finished off to score.

Norwich were not finished, on 75 minutes Dawkins fired in a powerful effort which Binks parried, but substitute Drmola, only on the pitch for a minute or so, seized on the rebound.

Norwich were then carelessly penalised in their own area and Jenkinson stroked home the penalty pass Loveday.

87 minutes from a further Habergham corner brought confusion in the Charlton ranks and somehow the ball managed to just cross the line off a defender, with the referee's assistant confirming with the referee in awarding the goal to Norwich.

In the dying seconds, another goal to add to the match tally, when Warren looped a header from the right out of arms reach of Loveday to reduce the deficit.

But for Norwich, they will hopefully enjoy the journey back to Norfolk with this splendid victory.
