Norwich City academy product Ebou Adams has earned a return to the Football League.

The former Canaries midfielder, 23, has joined League Two side Forest Green Rovers after two seasons in the National League.

The Gambia international, who recently won his sixth cap having played in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games during the season, had a loan spell in the National League with Leyton Orient before being released by Norwich in 2018.

Adams had previously been a prevalent player for City's U23s and had a brief loan in League One with Shrewsbury during 2017-18.

He opted to join Ebbsfleet rather than Orient last summer though - who went on to win the title without him - and made 37 appearances as Fleet finished outside the play-offs.

The former Dartford trainee has done enough to earn a two-year deal at Forest Green and step up to the Football League though, with manager Mark Cooper telling his club's website: "He's another good young prospect and the kind of box-to-box midfielder we haven't got, that pure legs and destructiveness.

"He has quality on the ball, something we are going to work with, and he is highly thought of.

"It was only due to the fact that Ebbsfleet have got well documented issues that we've managed to get him for a nominal fee and a big thank you to Gary Hill there for making it run smoothly."

Two other Canaries academy products have also got new clubs, with full-back Reece Hall-Johnson staying in League Two with Northampton Town.

The 24-year-old - one of City's 2013 FA Youth Cup winners - made 28 appearances last season for Grimsby but has left the Mariners and signed a one-year deal with Northampton, with the option for a further year.

Cobblers boss Keith Curle told his club's website: "We are really pleased to have signed Reece. He is an attacking right-back who has a lot of pace and someone who we think is getting better and better as a player.

"He is very athletic and is full of energy and he can play as a wing-back, as a right-back in a four or as a right sided centre-back as well.

"Reece can deliver a quality ball in to the area too and we believe his career is on an upward curve.

"He is one we have identified, he is a good age, a natural athlete, he is mobile and he has that ambition we require and we are pleased to have him on board."

Former City striker Jamar Loza, who scored once in six first team games before his release in 2016, stays in National League South side Chelmsford City - having had spells with Maidstone, Woking and Billericay last season.
