THE GOOD news folks, is that after today, there are only nine games to go - we are into single figures. The bad news is, if you are a Norwich fan, you are likely to have tickets for at least four of those matches.

THE GOOD news folks, is that after today, there are only nine games to go - we are into single figures.

The bad news is, if you are a Norwich fan, you are likely to have tickets for at least four of those matches.

For the clinically insane - otherwise known as away fans - that figure could be far higher.

Quite why anyone travels to watch us away from home any more is beyond The Man.

I'm not mocking the people that do go regularly, they are the bedrock of this club, and among the most selfless set of supporters in the country.

Quite simply, the current team does not deserve you.

If the club had some foresight it would have offered to refund the £30 fans shelled out for the Selhurst debacle.

But I doubt that would have reflected too well on nutty Nigel and Co.

Or maybe some of our overpaid players could have coughed it up from their bumper wages? God forbid.

If they had of paid out they would have left themselves open for further demands for refunds relating to Stoke, Watford, Luton, QPR, Wolves, Millwall, Derby and Reading.

And all with trips to Leeds and Preston looming.

Also, unlike The Stowmarket Two, the away fans don't have the luxury of travelling by plane.

The Man's back has only just recovered from the 78-hour train journey to Plymouth. Still, it was worth it…

Mind you, if 6,000 of us are going to clap the team off after they lost 6-0 in one of the club's most important ever away games, then we can't be surprised that we get taken for mugs.

You might be confused to see that The Man has not launched into a tirade over Mr Skipper's various comments this week.

I think by the time this particular organ goes to print his remarks will already have been chewed over, mulled upon, and spat out in a steaming wad of phlegm.

What I am more interested in is a weakening of the club's party line this week.

For the first time I can see a movement towards December's Manager of the Month leaving at the end of the season.

Previously when the manager's position was questioned, we would be greeted with official responses such as: “Nigel is a bright young manager, and the club very much hopes he continues the good work he has done here long into the future.”

Now we are hearing things like: “You can never make predictions in football” and “If Nigel decides he has had enough in the summer then so be it.”

As I have said on countless occasions, The Man hates that it has come to this.

Before today's game, fans were set to call for Worthy to go. Doubtless the chants will have filtered through to the dressing room while he was giving his team talk.

On a personal level, that is a tragedy. He does not deserve that, but I understand the frustration which has led to this situation.

Dissent has been disregarded, and thus it has grown. I will never chant for NW's head, but I expect the board to be able to make the “tough decisions” Mr Skipper boasted they had made in the past.

One thing the Worthy-outers must be aware of, if they get their way, is to expect a lot of soul-searching from The Stowmarket Two. Rightly or wrongly, they are clearly very close to Nigel. They might not take his departure very well.

I really hope we don't have a woman scorned on our hands. We would be in real trouble if Delia walked away. OTBC.
