Norwich City have lost 2-1 to Scottish First Division outfit Clyde in a behind-closed-doors practice match at Colney.

Clyde's former Rangers striker Gary McSwegan and a German trialist put the Scottish side in front before Norwich teenager Luke Daley reduced the arrears after the break.

City had excluded the public from the game in order to allow the two managers to stop and start the game for coaching purposes.

It was essentially no more than a first chance for City to blow the cobwebs away.

But however low key an affair it was, manager Glenn Roeder had an extra cause to be relieved it was all played out away from public glare as his side were beaten by a team which finished next to bottom in Scottish Division One last season.
