Norwich City have been linked with a possible move for Whitley Bay striker Lee Kerr.

Kerr, 19, who recently had a trial with Newcastle United, has scored 20 goals for the Northern League Division One side this season and it is believed that the Canaries are interested in giving him a similar trial at Carrow Road after Easter.

Magpies boss Glenn Roeder saw the Jarrow-born striker Kerr go close to scoring on his debut for United's reserves against Bolton Wanderers earlier in the week after partnering £9.5m Albert Luque up front.

However, Roeder has decided against offering Kerr a contract at the club, despite believing he has a professional future in the game, although not yet at Premiership level.

It's believed eight other scouts were at Kingston Park to watch Kerr on Monday which suggests there may well be future offers.
