Norwich City have signed Wigan striker Antoine Sibierski on loan until January 18.
The deal for the 34-year-old went through late on transfer deadline day, after City boss Glenn Roeder had already sold Jason Shackell to Wolves for an undisclosed fee and agreed an emergency loan deal for Middlesbrough's Jonathan Grounds.
Roeder signed Sibierski on transfer deadline day two years ago, when he was manager of Newcastle United.
The Frenchman came to England in 2003 when he joined Manchester City. He went on to play for Newcastle before joining Wigan last summer.
“I'm delighted to have secured the signing of Antoine on loan until January,” Roeder told the club's official website. “This is the second time I have signed Antoine, the first time was on deadline day in 2006, when along with Sol Campbell, who joined Portsmouth from Arsenal, he was widely regarded as one of the best free transfers of the season.
“He's scored lots of goals, many with his head, and will be a great role model for our younger players to work with.”
