Another day, another award nomination, for Norwich City star Teemu Pukki.

The Canaries' striker has been nominated for the official Premier League Player of the Month award for August, after scoring five goals during the opening four games of the campaign.

The nomination follows on from Pukki winning the public vote to claim the PFA Fans' Premier League Player of the Month award, pitting the Finland international against some of the game's top names.

Manchester City stars Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling are all in the running, as is Burnley forward Ashley Barnes and Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino.

Only Argentina star Aguero has scored more than Pukki's five goals, after the Finn scored a hat-trick during a 3-1 home win over Newcastle, including a fine volley.

That goal was nominated for Goal of the Month on Match of the Day Two but missed out on the gong, but is now also nominated for the Budweiser Premier League Goal of the Month award.

Pukki also scored a winner for Finland against Greece in Euro 2020 qualifying on Thursday.
