Norwich City Under-23s begin their Premier League Two season this evening, with the potential for some first-team involvement.

David Wright’s squad will be looking to build on last week’s 3-2 win over Plymouth Argyle in the group stages of the EFL Trophy as they begin their Division Two campaign against Reading at Colney.

Some of the younger players from the first team squad who weren’t involved in the 1-0 Championship win at Huddersfield on Saturday, could well get some game time, such as full-backs Bali Mumba and Sam McCallum, midfielders Jacob Sorensen and Melvin Sitti and Luxembourg international forward Danel Sinani.

Senior players Mario Vrancic, Marco Stiepermann and Timm Klose also didn’t make the squad and could well be keen for game time, with three overage outfield players allowed.

The match kicks off at 7pm at the Lotus Training Centre but is behind closed doors, with spectators not allowed to attend.
