They chatted through City’s painful defeat at Barnsley on Saturday, the resulting criticism of Norwich’s management and players, as well as what happens next.

A rejuvenated Aston Villa will arrive at Carrow Road on Tuesday night in front of the live Sky Sports cameras, with Steve Bruce having turned them into serious promotion contenders since being named manager in the autumn.

City remain outside the Championship top six, with Aston Villa visiting Carrow Road on Tuesday night.
