Although the weather has yet again put paid to football at Shoemakers Lane, rumours concerning a new signing, were spreading around Swaffham like wildfire on Saturday night.
The undisclosed player, alleged by those who saw him, to be none other than the 6' '7" tall, former Norwich, Portsmouth, Liverpool and now-in form striker at Spurs, Peter Crouch!
Rumours say that he is looking to increase his playing portfolio, in a bid to impress Fabio Capello in a last- ditch attempt to be included in the England squad for South Africa this summer. He sees a spell at the Pedlars as an obvious opportunity.
