Needham Market, who had secured the Ridgeons Premier Division title a few days earlier, were surprisingly beaten 3-0 at mid-table Dereham Town on Saturday afternoon.

After an even start to the game the Magpies took the lead when Danny Beaumont challenged the visitors' keeper Floyd Croll, who was trying to reach a weak back pass, and slotted home with ease.

Soon after Dereham's Scott Roberts headed a Sam Willis cross narrowly wide and later they went close again when Scott Woodgate hit a 20-yard shot just wide.

It was highly fitting that Dereham captain Graham Barrett, who was making his final appearance for the club, increased the Magpies' lead after he latched onto a fine through-ball from Roberts and cooly finished.

Substitute Kenny Reeves then made it 3-0 with a well-taken goal after a defence-splitting ball from Willis.

Meanwhile, Norwich United finished their campaign with an emphatic 4-0 victory at home to Newmarket Town.

First-half goals came from a Lee Hunter penalty and Ricci Butler and the Planters ensured 15th position with second-half strikes from Supporters' Player of the Season Andrew Claydon and Jordan Blyth. Steve Shipley won Players' Player of the Season.

Kirkley & Pakefield finish the season in fourth place, losing their final game 3-1 to visitors Ely City, who end up in ninth position.

On the scoresheet for K&P was Grint while Ely's goals came courtesy of a Chadwick brace and one from Mason.

Wroxham finished eighth after drawing 2-2 with visitors Woodbridge.

Against the run of play, the visitors took the lead through Gavin Frost but the Yachtsmen immediately equalised when James Bulman was set free by Gary Gilmore and netted in fine style.

Wroxham went ahead when Danny Self curled a free-kick over the wall from 25 yards out.

Bulman later had the ball in the net but it was ruled out for offside.

A bad mistake by Caurs allowed Ben Seaman a chance to shoot but Wroxham keeper Walton pulled off an excellent one-hand diving save.

Wroxham had many chances but they went begging and although Woodbridge only had a few they managed to net again to level, Frost again the scorer.

Wroxham substitute Paul Timm almost scored a late winner when Gilmore set him up with a back-to-goal bicycle kick which Wilson turned over the bar.

Former leaders CRC finished in second place to Needham, ending their league season with a comprehensive 6-0 win over visitors Wivenhoe.

Other results on Saturday saw Debenham LC host third-place Leiston and bag three points with a 1-0 win, while Walsham-le-Willows drew 1-1 at Haverhill Rovers.

Stanway Rovers returned from Histon Reserves with a 1-0 win while Wisbech Town were 1-0 winners over visiting Felixstowe & Walton United.
