This week we’re looking to the west of the county and our 5IVES leagues at Northgate High School.

The Dereham Centre is one of our longest standing County 5IVES venues and boasts two divisions of eight teams a piece.

• Dereham Premiership

Two weeks into the winter season ‘Futbol Klubu’ have stamped their authority on the early proceedings in the Premiership, with comprehensive 10-3 and 8-1 wins.

On their tails and also boasting a 100 per cent record are ‘Eagles’ and ‘Real Rudeboys’, who have not quite matched the high scoring exploits of ‘Futbol Klubu’ but have made impressive starts nonetheless.

‘Wiseman FC’ and ‘Tuga Team’ are yet to register their first points and they will be hoping this changes sooner rather than later, to avoid being dragged into a relegation scrap come the end of the season.

• Dereham Championship

The one and only new entrant into the Dereham Leagues for this season were ‘4Sports AFC’ - and what an introduction they have made. Their young and talented side have notched up two wins out of two and have been complimented by neutrals on the standard of their performances thus far. ‘Gressenhall’ and ‘Tig ol Bitties’ have been on the receiving end of 4Sports rampant form and, at this rate, it looks like they won’t be the only ones.

‘Beetley Rovers’, who have been playing 5IVES at Dereham for a number of years, are also doing well with 10-6 and 3-2 victories to date. Meanwhile ‘Borussia Teeth’, ‘JB United’, ‘Runners’ and ‘Gressenhall FC’ have all won one and lost one from their opening fixtures. ‘Tig Ol Bitties’ and ‘Cranmer FC’ are yet to register a point, but this will change on Monday with the two facing each other in an early season ‘six-pointer’.

• Vacancies

We currently have a vacancy in our Tuesday League, Division 2 at the FDC. The league is ideal for any new team starting out and, with the season only four weeks old, there is plenty of the season still left to play for. In addition, we have a single space in our Monday night Ladies Premier Division, which is only three weeks old. Any interested teams should call 01603 748944 or email County5IVES@NorfolkFA.com to get registered and start playing!

Next week we will be hearing from a County 5IVES regular, about their experience of five-a-side football.
