Division One leaders Yaxham lost their 100 percent record when they were beaten 5-3 by second-placed Dereham Town A at Aldiss Park.

Dereham were never behind in the game and played some very good football to earn a well deserved victory. Northwold S&SC are third after beating last year’s champions Castle Acre Swifts by the same scoreline and Morley Village are fourth after their 4-0 home win over Narborough. The next four teams all won at home and are also on six points. North Elmham beat Shipdham 4-0 while Rockland United beat Bridgham United by the odd goal of five. Tacolneston netted the highest score of the day in the division with a 7-1 home win over Swaffham Town A and Thetford Rovers Reserves ran out 2-0 winners over Gressenhall.

There were just two fixtures in Division Two. Leaders Scarning United stay top after beating Necton 3-1 at home while Nostro secured their first win on the back of a 6-1 victory at Hethersett Athletic.

Attleborough Athletic stretched their lead at the top of Division Three to five points and preserved their 100% record with a 2-1 win at Watton United A. Second-placed Weeting went down to a heavy 9-2 defeat at Litcham while Stoke Ferry moved up to fourth after a 5-0 home win over Rockland United Reserves. Marham Wanderers picked up their first points of the season by beating bottom team Narborough Reserves 4-0 while Splitz United and Methwold United shared the spoils from a 1-1 draw.

Weasenham Wanderers are the new leaders of Division Four after inflicting a crushing 16-0 defeat on bottom team Methwold United Reserves. Nostro Reserves and Tacolneston Reserves took a point each from a 1-1 draw. Dereham Cockers United beat Shipdham Reserves by the odd goal of three and Castle Acre Swifts Reserves did likewise at Gressenhall Reserves.

The rest of the teams in action were contesting the first round of the Ben Smith Memorial Cup, the league’s premier cup competition. Mulbarton Wanderers Reserves recorded the highest score of the day and got very close to the record for the largest win in the competition’s history with a 19-0 hammering of North Elmham Reserves. There were some good results for teams from Division Four, beating teams from higher divisions. Beetley United won 6-2 at Bawdeswell, Feltwell United Reserves.were 8-4 home winners over Sporle and Wendling beat West End 4-3 after extra time.

Colkirk beat Northwold S&SC Reserves by the odd goal of five, Cockers won 5-2 at Great Cressingham and Tugas United squeezed past Hingham Athletic Reserves 4-3. Mulbarton Wanderers A made it a good day for the club with a 2-1 win at Walsingham United while Rampant Horse beat Yaxham Reserves 4-1 a.e.t.
