Doncaster confirms Croft inquiry

Norwich City chief executive Neil Doncaster this morning confirmed the club's interest in signing Manchester City winger Lee Croft.

Norwich City chief executive Neil Doncaster this morning confirmed the club's interest in signing Manchester City winger Lee Croft.

Reports suggest that the Canaries have had a £800,000 bid accepted by the Blues, but as far as City are concerned they have simply made enquires about the player's availability.

“He's just one of a number of players we've made enquiries about,” said Doncaster.

Croft, 21, is an academy product of the Manchester club, coming up through the ranks with the likes of Joey Barton. He has made just four league starts but has figured 24 times from the bench. Croft was tipped for the top but has struggled to cement a place in the team under manager Stuart Pearce.
