BOHEMIANS GIRLS U14, playing in their own club tournament, knew this was going to be the hardest tournament of the summer to win with teams from Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and London participating.

The team consisting of Megan, Sasha, Mollie, LJ, Chelsea, Libby and Jody played some great incisive free-flowing football and topped their group winning all their group games.

In the quarter-finals they faced North Walsham and despite having all the possession and chances found themselves in a penalty shoot out which they held their nerve to win. In the semi-final they faced the mighty Brantham who had won all their group games with ease.

This was a pulsating match which saw Bohs take the lead following a good throw by Sasha and a great header from Megan who was immense all day. Brantham committed more players forward and equalised to take the match to penalties. Bohs scored four out of their five penalties and Libby saved Brantham's last spot-kick to give Bohs a place in the final.

In the final against West Ham the match was an end-to-end affair with both teams determined to win and for the third time we found ourselves in a penalty shoot out which was remarkable in itself.

With the score 10-9 to us Libby made a wonderful save to earn Bohs victory.

A great contest between two very sporting and gracious teams who were well supported by two great sets of parents and epitomised everything good about girls' football. Thanks to Steve, Ross and Harry for officiating and for all Steve's help during the day.

BOHEMIANS GIRLS U15 looking to win their own club tournament for the fourth year in a row faced very stiff opposition.

Charlotte gave them victory in the first match with a 20-yard scorcher of a free kick which the Swindell keeper never got near to saving.

Bohs progressed through to the semi-final unbeaten where they again faced Swindell and knew this would be a very tight and competitive match but Bohs took the game to our opponents and Charlotte Howard first hit the post and then saw another effort well saved.

The match was marred by a nasty injury to Charlotte who took the full brunt of a powerfully-hit shot from Brogan which was a total accident. After treatment she was able to leave the field of play and we played out the match with five players.

The girls showed great character as they snatched a late winner from Charlotte H to give them a place in the final where they faced Brantham. The teams could not be separated and the match went to sudden-death penalties and Deyna smashed home the winner to give the girls victory for the fourth year in a row.

Special mention goes to Becks who was quite simply magnificent in defence, Remy who made a string of fine saves particularly in the penalty shoot out and Charlotte Eaton who worked tirelessly up front.

Well done girls, your attitude and commitment and willingness to work hard and play as a team merited your success and as a club that's what we strive for.

Bohs would also like to express their thanks to the Swindell parent who got in contact to make sure Charlotte was okay following her injury earlier in the day.
