The Canaries are already facing their first injury crisis of the season as they prepare for the second match of their Swedish tour.

Central defenders Jason Shackell and Gary Doherty are both under treatment for swollen ankles after hobbling off in Saturday's 2-1 win over Ahlafors IF.

With Michael Spillane also sidelined by a groin injury and new signing Dejan Stefanovic not with the party in Sweden, manager Glenn Roeder may be without a recognised centre-half for tomorrow night's game against Falkenbergs FF at Stafsinge.

Shackell suffered an ankle injury when he was the victim of a late challenge in the first half against Ahlafors, while Doherty was injured in stoppage time in the build-up to City's winning goal.

"Jason has an ankle injury. It was a bad tackle. It was late and clumsy," said Roeder. "It was an accident but he's got a swollen ankle which would make him very doubtful for Tuesday, and Doc is the same.

"The goal came from that situation when Doc got brought down but Doc's ankle is swollen.

"Michael Spillane's got a groin injury that will keep him out for two or three weeks, so the centre-back pairing on Tuesday should be interesting.

"I wouldn't think there will be too much height in it.

"It's possible we're going to have players starting in positions that are not familiar to them, the way that Sammy Clingan had to fill in at centre-back on Saturday.

"I actually thought he did very well there when he dropped back. So we'll see what the injuries are like and we'll see what we can get out on Tuesday night."

Better news is that left-back Adam Drury will play at least part of tomorrow's game as he recovers from a training injury. Republic of Ireland winger Wes Hoolahan was rested after suffering a slight thigh strain in the 8-1 win at Gorleston but could also figure.
