CROWN FIRE CENTRAL & SOUTH NORFOLK LEAGUE: Most of the First Division teams were involved in the First Round of the Sound & Vision Junior League Cup. The holders North Elmham were given a real fright by Shipdham and were held to 1-1 after extra time.

Another match went to penalties and this saw Hingham Athletic come out on top winning 5-4 on penalties after being held 2-2 after extra time by Rockland Utd. The other matches all went to League form. Mulbarton Wanderers won 2-1 at Bridgham Utd while Dereham Posties were 4-1 home winners over Toftwood Rangers. East Harling Res beat Thetford Athletic by the odd goal of five while Division 1 leaders Saham Toney had the easiest win on of the day with a 9-0 home triumph over Gressenhall.

There was just one match in Division One - Dereham Town A recorded their first League win of the season with a 3-2 success at Yaxham.

Cockers continue to lead the way in Division Two with a 100 per cent record after beating Yaxham Res 5-0. Watton Utd A move up to second place above Attleborough Town A after beating them 2-0 and Wymondham Town A are fourth following a comfortable 5-0 win over bottom team Necton Res in an entertaining game played largely in good spirit.

Morley Village Res. had a good 3-2 win at Tacolneston and Swaffham Town A won by the same score at home to Saham Toney Res. Bunwell secured their first League points of the season with a 3-0 home win over Hingham Athletic Res.

Division Three leaders West End could not raise a team for their fixture. Foulsham Res are second although they dropped two points in being held to a 3-3 draw by Shipdham Res.

In all the other matches, the losing team failed to score. Sporle in third spot won 7-0 at bottom team Rockland Utd Res while fourth-placed Swanton Morley beat Wendling by the only goal of the game. Bradenham Wanderers Res did likewise at home to Thetford Rovers Res and Great Cressingham won 5-0 at Gressenhall Res.

Division Four leaders Hethersett Athletic retained their 100 per cent record with a 3-2 win over Colkirk and, as a result, Fakenham Town A who beat Shropham Utd Res 4-2 to move above Colkirk into second place.

Castle Acre Swifts secured their first win since joining the League with a 3-2 home success over Thurton & Ashby and Splitz Utd also won their first League game of the season with a 5-0 win over local rivals Beetley. In the south west Norfolk derby, Northwold S&SC came out emphatically on top, beating Methwold Rovers 9-2.
