European football awaits for former Norwich City academy defender Dario Dumic, after signing a four-year deal with Dutch top-flight side Utrecht.
The 25-year-old centre-back left Norwich in January 2010 after just one senior appearance, as a 57th-minute substitute in a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy southern section quarter-final at Swindon, which City won 5-3 on penalties.
Dumic, born in Sarajevo but raised in Denmark, joined Brondby on a free transfer and made over 100 appearances for the 10-time Danish champions.
He then joined NEC Nijmegen on loan in January 2016 and eventually the deal was made permanent, signing a three-year deal. He was unable to prevent Nijmegen slipping to relegation from the Eredivisie last season but his form, scoring four goals in 34 games, earned his first Bosnia & Herzegovina cap last month.
Dumic has joined Utrecht though, who finished fourth last season and won the Europa League qualification play-off, on a four-year deal.
