Discarded Norwich City striker Ryan Jarvis looks likely to be offered a contract in Scandinavia.

Jarvis, 22 next month, has been to Denmark for talks on a possible move to Esbjerg fB.

The former England Under-20 international met the management of the Danish Superliga team and a contract offer is likely to be one of his options for next season.

But he has also revealed that clubs in England have shown an interest and he is going to take some time before making a decision.

Fakenham-born Jarvis, who was once City's youngest first team player of all time, spent the second half of last season on loan at League Two club Notts County.

Along with brother Rossi, he was among nine players released by manager Glenn Roeder at the end of the season.

"I haven't decided anything. There are a few English clubs interested and my agent is talking to people," he said.

"I spoke to Notts County at the end of the season and they were still interested.

"It's a big decision to make and I haven't really said yes or no to anything.

"There is still time between now and the start of pre-season training and I hope in a few weeks I will start to get a clearer view."

Though there was inevitable sadness at ending his long association with the Canaries - for whom he made 38 senior appearances, scoring five goals - Jarvis said he had to make a clean break.

"I'd been there from when I was a kid and I'd love to have made my mark in the team but it didn't happen," he said.

"I needed to get out to get my career back on track. There was no point staying and the manager has probably done me a favour.

"Without seeming offensive, if he wasn't going to play me I wouldn't have really wanted to sign. I hadn't been getting in the team. That's football. I've got to move on in my career."

Jarvis made history as City's youngest first team player in 2003 when he made his debut as a substitute at Walsall at the age of 16 years 282 days, a record broken in 2007 by Kris Renton.

He had loans spells at Colchester, Leyton Orient and Kilmarnock before joining Notts County in January, helping steer them away from relegation from the Football League, scoring twice in 17 appearances.

County manager Ian McParland said at the end of the season he had not ruled out trying to make the move permanent.

Luton Town are keen to sign 20-year-old Rossi, who failed to add to his 11 senior appearances after Roeder's arrival as manager last October.
