Wroxham's all-Norfolk FA Cup third qualifying round tie against King's Lynn on Saturday is heading for a 1,100 Trafford Park sell out.

Officials from both clubs yesterday urged supporters to snap up remaining tickets with the Ridgeons' Premier Division outfit on course to set a new club record attendance.

The Linnets' have requested additional tickets to cope with demand after extending their original ticket office deadline from today until Friday.

“We have approximately 150 left out of our initial 700 allocation but the majority of those are concessions tickets - rather than adults,” said a Lynn club official. “We would stress again that no tickets are available on match day and although we will attempt to turn around any existing postal applications obviously we can offer no guarantees the nearer we get to the weekend.

“We've seen a steady stream of interest since the draw was made for what we all expect is going to be a great occasion for the whole of Norfolk.”

Lynn's commercial office at The Walks will stay open until 7.30pm today and tomorrow with any remaining tickets available up to buy until 5pm on Friday. For telephone inquiries contact 01553 760060.

Wroxham secretary Chris Green confirmed the Yachtsmen were in talks with their Blue Square North neighbours to increase Lynn's initial allocation.

“We are in discussions with King's Lynn to potentially offer them some of our unsold tickets,” said Green. “However, I would also reiterate we still have tickets available for home supporters. Of our initial 400 we have sold roughly half of those. We have tickets available not only from the ground direct but various other outlets.

“When I became involved with the club I knew there was the potential for a game of this size so the planning started immediately. We had a preliminary meeting this week and we have a large number of people working very hard to make it a great occasion.”

Green is tipping the Ridgeons Premier hosts to spring another surprise or two on the pitch after toppling higher level opposition in each of the two previous rounds.

“We will perhaps go into the game as underdogs,” he said. “But we've already shown at Grantham and against Heybridge that we can perform against the bigger teams. Our boys are going to be up for it. We're looking forward to it and King's Lynn can expect a tough game.”

Home supporters can purchase tickets direct from Trafford Park between 10am and 3pm weekdays or at the Customer Service Desk in Roys of Wroxham.

Tickets are also available from Joe's Pets, based on Norwich market, Dolphin Autos, Swanton Road or Hazell Butchers on Corbett Avenue in Sprowston. Supporters can also contact Wroxham's ticket hotline 01603 400300 or email enquiries@wroxhamfc.com.

Tickets: Adults £10, concessions £6 and children (aged 16 and under) £3. Children may be asked for ID at ticket outlets and also to provide ID on match day at Trafford Park.
