Wroxham take a break from their league programme and return to a competition which brought them their greatest achievement.

The Yachtsmen went all the way to the FA Vase final at Wembley in 2010, but were unable to play in the competition after they joined step four of the non-league pyramid.

However, following relegation last season, Wroxham are back and in second round qualifying action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain neighbours Norwich CBS.

There are a number of connections with the Bowthorpe-based club, including Paul Cook, who was Wroxham’s goalscorer in their 6-1 defeat to Whitby Town at Wembley seven years ago.

Having gained a 2-2 draw on Wednesday night at Walsham-le-Willows, thanks to a late Robbie Sweeney strike, the Yachtsmen will be looking to start as they finished the game. A boost to the side on Wednesday was the return of Tom Walters. The former Norwich City academy player has been missing from the game for 12 months because of injury and came on during the second half.

Managers Tom Parke and Ross Potter will be looking to continue his rehabilitation, although starting today’s tie may be a little too soon.

Definitely missing from the Wroxham line-up will be Craig Bussens, who still has a number of weeks to go before he can return after a hand injury. It will also be touch-and-go for Payton Swatman, who sustained a head injury on Wednesday which required hospital treatment. Youngster Archie Galley got a taste of first team football recently in the home victory against Thetford Town and may again be included in the squad.

Diss Town, FA Vase winners in 1994, are at home to Framlingham Town and will be looking to avoid a repeat of their recent Thurlow Nunn First Division performance when they were thumped 7-0. The Tangerines have won twice since that setback.

Great Yarmouth Town are at home to Debenham LC, Kirkley & Pakefield have visitors in the shape of Burnham Ramblers, Swaffham face Rushden & Higham United at Shoemakers Lane and Thetford Town entertain Oakham United. Wisbech St Mary travel to Wellingborough Whitworths and Walsham-le-Willows have a trip to Basildon United.
