Goals at the start and end of the second-half by former Fakenham player Scott Woodcock gave the Bloaters the Division One points at a rain-lashed Clipbush Park.
He powered home a shot four minutes after the break when the Ghosts failed to cope with a long throw-in. Then in the 90th minute he broke clear and rammed home the rebound after a brave block by keeper Chris Cracknell.
In the first half Stewart Roach had rattled the Fakenham woodwork and then headed down to set up Woodcock for a shot which brought the save of the match from Cracknell, flying to his right.
Generally Fakenham lacked bite midfield and produced little for their front runners.
