Norwich City is one of 41 clubs from across all three divisions of The Football League to have been awarded the 'Football League Family Excellence Award' for 2008/09, recognising the truly outstanding experience they provide for young fans and families at their grounds.
In announcing the successful clubs, Football League Chairman, Lord Mawhinney, said: “The 'Football League Family Excellence Award' provides a benchmark towards which clubs can work. It also aims to encourage their efforts to attract and retain family groups as supporters.
“Increasingly, our clubs are recognising the importance of adding value to the matchday experience of fans, so that families keep returning.”
This season has seen a significant rise in the standard of family experiences being offered by clubs, with nine more clubs achieve the award than in 2007/08. A number of clubs have introduced more imaginative pricing structures to attract families and a more welcoming, family focused stewarding team to ensure their experience is memorable.
