Daniel Farke’s dismissal of Norwich City’s derby dominance came with an acidic edge ahead of Sunday’s latest Portman Road showdown.
City’s head coach is ruling out any real value in an unbeaten run stretching back to April 2009, but underlined the point with a reference to Ipswich Town’s prolonged stay in the Championship.
“I don’t go too deep with statistics. Perhaps it was because for some years we did not play Ipswich because we were in the Premier League and they were not,” he said. “Maybe that is one of the reasons we are unbeaten.
“We know they will be hungry for this first win after nine years but they should be sure we will have a fighting attitude. We have shown in recent weeks it is not easy to beat us.
“They had a brilliant beginning to the season and were really on fire. They’ve struggled a little bit recently but they’ll be there with an aggressive attitude, especially at home, to turn the mood.
You may also want to watch:
“They’re in a good position even though we are above them in the table and 100pc they want to have three points, but we know we are hard to beat right now.
“It’ll be very close and tight and small things will decide it, so we have to concentrate 100pc. They will be hungry to get their first win against us for a long time.”
