The Fenmen crashed out of the FA Cup in a heavy midweek 4-0 replay defeat at Mildenhall after blowing a two goal lead in the final FA Cup tie at Fenland Park in the original tie.

Taylor wants no repeat ahead of the Pedlars' visit for the club's penultimate competitive fixture before their temporary ground share move to Outwell.

“We must dust ourselves down and look forward to the game,” he said. “The replay was the same story where we created and didn't take our chances and were punished by mistakes and some schoolboy defending that contributed to all four goals. Saying that Mildenhall have scored 28 goals in seven games and are no mugs. All the teams we have played so far have at least double or treble our budget and are able to pay their players three figure sums. We are miles off that at present. We had six local players start that game and another five on the bench. Ourselves and Haverhill are probably the only two sides in the league that have that amount of home grown players.”

Stuart Ablett (hamstring) is set for a spell on the sidelines but Taylor could unveil French defender Sofian Benour after obtaining international clearance.

“Sofian has played in the French league as a semi pro and should be available for selection for the Swaffham game,” said Taylor. “He is a tough tackling defender who is also very good on the ball. We are trying to improve the squad as a whole as we don't have the biggest at present.

“The reserves are very young and ones for the future, but are not ready to make the step up. The team still has a local feel to it but competition for places is vital otherwise players get in a comfort zone of just turning up knowing they are playing which is not the way forward. I want the players to fight for the shirt and things will improve all round.”

Fakenham visit Debenham LC while Gorleston entertain Deeping Rangers in other FA Vase ties.

Lowestoft joint boss Micky Chapman has warned his Blues to focus on King's Lynn Reserves in the Ridgeons Premier at Crown Meadow after a thrilling midweek penalty shoot FA Cup replay win over AFC Sudbury.

“I've said it before, but you never know what you will get when you play reserves teams - and we're expecting a really tough game,” said Chapman. “It is important if we want to challenge this year that we want to turn Crown Meadow into a difficult place to play at and come and get a result. We are therefore fully focused on King's Lynn and come 5pm all attention will turn to another hard game away at Wroxham - so we've a really big week ahead.”

Craig Lewis is available for selection but Matty Potter is still ruled out through injury.
