City boss Peter Grant will be checking on the fitness of five players ahead of Saturday's Championship trip to Cardiff.
Skipper Adam Drury was today said to be “still struggling” after the sickness bout which forced him to miss the 2-1 defeat by Derby on Tuesday. In addition, Dickson Etuhu, Simon Lappin, Chris Martin and Darren Huckerby were all set to miss training today with a collection of knocks.
However, striker Chris Brown was set to return to training after missing three games with hamstring trouble, while Luke Chadwick was also in training, having missed the opportunity of a return to action when Tuesday's reserve game at Luton was postponed.
Grant would not say whether goalkeeper Paul Gallacher would be back on the bench at Cardiff after being left out of the last two matches.
Asked whether Joe Lewis would be among the substitutes again, he said: “Time will tell. I never count on anyone being on the bench. Paul's situation I spoke about last week. He's been terrific, a great pro and working very hard and he knows the reasons why I made the decision. You are never happy when you are left out.”
