Former Norwich City striker Leon McKenzie could be facing a long spell on the sidelines after re-injuring his thigh in training for Coventry City.
Sky Blues manager Chris Coleman confirmed that McKenzie pulled up in training and will have a scan to reveal how long he could be out for.
McKenzie suffered a similar injury last season and Coleman admitted that he would be gutted to lose McKenzie if the scan brings bad news.
"We had a light training session on Friday and he went to cross the ball but pulled up sharply, we think he has got a tear in the thigh opposite his injury that he had last year," Coleman told the Coventry Telegraph.
"The symptoms look as if they are more than a grade one tear but we are hoping that it is not a grade three. It was obviously bleeding inside and we have had to wait until that dies down before he can get a scan. Fingers crossed it won't be too bad but it does not look good.
"If it is grade one then he will be out for three weeks to a month. If it is a grade two then it is six weeks to two months but if it is a grade three then we could be looking at a lot longer than that."
