Andy Key was the hero as Wroxham kept up their pursuit of top spot in the Ridgeons League Premier Division.

Key weighed in with four goals as the Yachtsmen hammered hapless Harwich 7-0 at Trafford Park.

The win leaves Wroxham third seven points behind new leaders Soham Town Rangers, who won 3-2 at Histon Reserves, to replace Needham Market at the summit as they drew in the fifth round of the FA Vase.

Steve Harley got the ball rolling for Wroxham after 10 minutes, and then Gavin Lemmon notched from two yards to double the advantage.

Then Key got in on the act. First he beat two men to fire into the far corner and just before half-time he scored a fine individual effort.

He completed his hat-trick in the 53rd minute, and after Shaun Howe bagged the Yachtsmen's sixth goal, Key struck his fourth in the dying minutes to complete a resounding success to keep the reigning champions in touch.

Adam Gusterson's reign as caretaker manager at Dereham got off to a good start as the Magpies swept aside bottom club Newmarket Town 2-0 at Aldiss Park.

Goals in each half, from Nicky Howell and Craig Terrington, moved Dereham, who parted company with Robert Taylor last week, into the top six.

They are a point behind Kirkley & Pakefield, who are fifth following a 3-0 win at Swaffham Town.

After a poor first-half, K&P broke the deadlock in the 51st minute when Jordan Blyth was brought down in the penalty area and Jamie Stockeld stepped up to convert.

The visitors had to wait until the 86th minute to put the game to bed as young midfielder Ian Dawson beat home 'keeper Steven Norris.

Stockeld rounded things off in fine style at the death with a free-kick from distance that went in off the bar.

Norwich United slipped a place nearer to the Premier Division drop zone after losing 5-0 at home to King's Lynn Reserves.

A brace from Seamus Kelleher, one each for Joe Woods and Mark Heath-Preston and an own goal from James Scott completed the win.

In the First Division, a last-minute Stowmarket goal denied Gorleston victory in a six-goal thriller at Emerald Park.

After recovering from 2-0 down at half-time, the Greens led 3-2 thanks to the efforts of Nathan Thompson.

He crossed for John Bell to score the Green's first goal and was then brought down for a penalty which Ricci Butler converted before finding the net himself.

But Austen King rose highest in the box to head an equaliser in stoppage time for the visitors.

Elsewhere, fifth-placed Diss Town were held to goalless draw at home to Whitton.

Downham Town's promotion hopes took a hit as they lost 4-0 to second-placed Ely City, and they are now two points behind Saffron Walden in third.

Thetford Town won 2-1 at March, to move four points clear of Great Yarmouth Town who were beaten 3-2 at mid-table Debenham LC.

Rock-bottom Fakenham Town lost again, their 19th reverse in 23 games, this time 5-1 at runaway leaders Tiptree United.

The Jam Makers are now 13 points clear of Ely having played a game more.
