An announcement will be made soon about tickets sales for Fakenham Town's home July 12 match with Norwich City, to mark the opening of the Ghosts' £370,000 clubhouse facilities at Clipbush Park.

Club vice-chairman Paul Wright yesterday that the game was attracting a lot of interest.

“Details of ticket prices and availability will be publicised as soon as we have finalised details with Norwich City. We would envisage making a formal announcement within 10-14 days.”

As the club continues to thrive, it is creating demands for more helpers behind the scenes.

Wright said: “The youth section have a couple vacancies coming up for which we would like any interested parties to contact me on 01328 851775

“They include a youth co-ordinating officer, a role that emcompasses the week-to-week co-ordination of all youth football at Fakenham from the minis to U18s and liasing with the main committee. Essential requirements are: a knowledge of football at this level, enthusiasm, a telephone and endless patience not necessarily in that order!

“The club is also looking for administrative help for both the senior and youth sections of the club. Secretaries are required to help out with the normal duties of a club the size of Fakenham. Any offers of help would be grateful, and I would be happy to discuss the roles with any interested parties.

“We can also announce that Cambridge United are playing us in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday, July 19, when Rob Newman and Tony Spearing will bring a strong squad to play at Clipbush Park. Mildenhall FC and King's Lynn have also agreed to send sides to Clipbush for pre-season, dates to be announced.

“Fund raising events this year include a casino night at the clubhouse on April 22nd, the highly successful and popular summer ball will be held on Friday, June 16 - tickets are now available at £37.50 each - and Glen Cooper will again provide the entertainment. The Family Fun Day is on Sunday, June 18 at Clipbush Park.
