Personally, I was sad to see Nigel go. Although I appreciate he had to go, as the performances could not carry on in the same vain. He was the man in charge and had to pay the price for the underachievement of the team.

Whilst I appreciate we all have our own views, I would question whether people are true supporters when they make comments that they are glad the team have lost, in order to get the result they desire with the manager. Whatever you think of the manager in situ, I would still expect the supporters to get behind the team, to cheer them onto victory and be disappointed when we lose. To hear some of the comments I have heard saddens me.

I felt sorry for Nigel in the end, as things started to get personal and the wave of 'Worthy Outers' seemed to grow. I understand why people had these views but the board did not help his cause. Many other managers with Nigel's record last year would have been sacked sooner. The board chose to stand by their man, rightly or wrongly, and give him every chance to turn it around. Unfortunately, he couldn't and the negative feeling towards him grew. If the Board had acted sooner, Nigel would have gone with more dignity. He is gone now and I hope all supporters appreciate what he has done for the club, in his 6 years in charge.

Good luck Nigel in your future career.

I hope by the time you read this that we have three points in the bag and Martin Hunter has managed to do what Nigel couldn't, recently, and get the best out of the players. They, over the past few weeks, have massively underachieved, however, there seems to be no recourse to them, this goes to show the player power in football nowadays.

Whoever takes charge of our team needs to be strong enough to handle the personalities involved, work with a tight budget and get rid of some of the journeymen we have in our squad. Hopefully, we will hear of the appointment soon and we can all get back to cheering, not jeering, the team, manager and staff and get back to winning ways.
