GORLESTON RANGERS GIRLS U10 played last Tuesday evening, away to Thorpe. Playing downhill, an early shot by Paige was saved. Jane had a shot which came out to the half-way line to Jade, whose shot was well saved.

GORLESTON RANGERS GIRLS U10 played last Tuesday evening, away to Thorpe. Playing downhill, an early shot by Paige was saved. Jane had a shot which came out to the half-way line to Jade, whose shot was well saved. A slick inter-passing move between Caitlin, Jess and Jane resulted in the latter scoring the first goal. Jade had her long-range shooting boots on and had another effort saved. Thorpe have improved since the first match and defended well. After another good move Paige finished to make it 2-0. Thorpe then had a break on and Kelsey bravely dived at the on-rushing striker's feet to make the save. Uphill second half and Megan came on for Jade and was immediately in the thick of the action and had an early shot. Jane was running at the Thorpe right and her shot/cross squirmed through the keeper's hands to Megan who couldn't miss. It was then the Jane Uebergang show, this time down the left. She cut in, shot and it was 4-0. Paige had a fine effort from a free-kick hit the foot of a post. Jess picked up the ball on the edge of the box and made it, 5-0. Clarissa put her foot through the ball for a fine finish. And 6-0. The girls still undefeated. GoM: Jess.

GORLESTON FC U14 faced local rivals Gorleston Rangers in the NSYL Cup final on Sunday at Emerald Park. A superb team performance saw the boys record a 5-2 victory. A tight first half finished 2-2 but a telling 10 minute spell in the second half saw Gorleston FC score three times without reply. The goals coming from Lee Roots (3) with Sean Wallis and Ollie Carey scoring one apiece. Sean deservedly earned the man-of-the- match award. Manager Glyn Hopkins was very proud of the whole team and would like to thank all the players for their continued commitment and

hard work.

GORLESTON RANGERS U8C are looking for a couple more players. One position urgently required is a goalkeeper. If you are in Year 3 at school and not signed to another club and want to experience the training and learn more about the game, come along to training on Saturday, 9.30am. GREAT YARMOUTH TOWN U10 travelled to Kirkey & Pakefield A on Saturday and produced a very good display against a team with a good defensive record. Yarmouth were missing skipper Aizlewood, but were otherwise at full strength, with Swanston, Haylock and Saywer, a midfield of Jex, Wallis, Rodwell, Sims and Wright and Hunter up front. Yarmouth bossed this game from the start and were playing some lovely passing football which saw them score five excellent goals spread throughout this match. Swanston came out of goal for the last five minutes and was unlucky not to score. Final score: Kirkley and Pakefield A 0, Great Yarmouth Town 5. Scorers Hunter (4) and Sawyer. MoM: Whole team.

GREAT YARMOUTH TOWN U10 played in the Legends Events friendly pre-match entertainment prior to the Ipswich and Norwich Legends match against Gorleston Rangers B, Kirkey and Pakefield A and Hemsby Hornets A and produced four good displays in these seven-minute games. Yarmouth played first up against Rangers B and won 1-0 (Hunter), drew 0-0 in the second with Kirkley and Pakefield A, won 4-0 in the third against Hemsby (Sims, Wallis and Hunter (2), and won the forth 1-0 against Kirkley and Pakefield A (Wallis). All boys played very well once again, through Swanston, Haylock, Sawyer, Sims, Wallis, Jex, Rodwell, Wright, Hunter and an excellent performance by Marcus Payne. The boys then stayed on to meet some legends and watch the full game. Good performance by all concerned.

HEMSBY HORNETS U9 STINGERS played their final league game of the season at home against St Benets on Sunday. The match started with Hemsby passing the ball and in complete control. Chance after chance fell to the Hemsby strikers as the team kept possession for long periods, but St Benets had a couple of breakaway opportunities which they immediately scored from. Tom, who played the first half in defence alongside Kahn, scored one for Hemsby before half-time. The second half saw Archie S switch into defence with Rowan and Calum continuing up front but immediately St Benets took control, scoring another two goals which Archie G in goal could do little about. Hemsby never stopped trying and eventually composed themselves and started to play proper football again. Two goals followed, one from Calum and one from Archie S, leaving the final score 4-3 to St Benets. It was not quite the end to the season anybody wanted, but when playing well the team have proved they are a match for anybody and need to draw on this next season. Kahn was given man of the match. Training will continue on Saturdays until the summer break.

BOHEMIANS U12 GIRLS visited Red Rose and had a fantastic 14-1 win. With no subs the girls kept passing, receiving and playing a great game of football. There were some super crosses made by the girls and these resulted in goals. The girls had chances to play in different positions and adapted well, growing in confidence. Jackie made some great saves. Red Rose played well and kept defending, making it hard for Bohs. Another game unbeaten.

BOHEMIANS GIRLS U15 away to Norwich Yellows in their last league game of the season knew the league title was safe and were a little unfocused. They opened the scoring with a well-worked goal finished by Chloe before Yellows hit back with two goals. LJ levelled things before Yellows again took the lead, Chloe equalising by the break. Chelsea and Libby scored two each to extend the lead to 7-3 but Yellows again hit back before Megan, who was outstanding, scored with a 20-yard left-footer. A great season for the team, winning 19 of their 20 games and losing the other one in very undeserved circumstances by one goal. Players-of-the-match: Megan and Chloe. Mike Crosby refereed very fairly and thanks go to all parents who have supported the team week in, week out and encouraged the team brilliantly.

BOHEMIANS GIRLS U15 played closest rivals Norwich Greens with the outcome having a significant effect on the destiny of the league. Chances were at a premium with both teams cancelling each other out and the first half finished all square. In the second half the all-important goal came from a fiercely hit shot from Chelsea. Laura Jane and Chelsea both had good opportunities as the Greens pushed more players forward. The last few minutes saw Bohs having to defend hard and Laura in goal made two terrific saves. A good match very well refereed by Andy. Player-of-the-match: Chloe. Away to Shrublands, Bohs knew that a win would secure them the NSYL title and they turned in a superb performance. Rocky and LJ were at their sharpest scoring 11 between them and Megan scored her sixth hat-trick of the season. There weres two goals for Neneh and one for Chelsea. Thanks to Ross for refereeing. Players-of-the-match: Neneh and LJ.

BOHEMIANS GIRLS U14 away to Freethorpe turned in a very pleasing performance. Player-of-the-match was the Freethorpe keeper who saved her team from a very heavy defeat. Highlight of the evening was four goals for Sophie, another hat-trick for Rocky, a couple each for Ella and Laura and a great solo effort from Marcie. Chloe again was superb and fully deserved her hat-trick. Hollie in goal showed how much she has improved. Kirsty, Paige and Hollie dealt comfortably with the Freethorpe attack and Sophie had her best game of the season. Player-of-the-match: The whole team.

BOHEMIANS GIRLS U16 away to Swindell in their final league game of the season knew they only had to avoid a heavy defeat to secure their fifth league title in six seasons. The girls dominated possession as Swindell could only field eight players. Charlotte H opened the scoring before good interplay with her sister saw Dayna add the second. Sasha added a third from a well-taken corner by Chelsea and it was Chelsea who struck home the fourth. In the second half Charlotte Eastwood scored the first of two goals with a trademark long-range effort and the scoring was completed by Libby, Charlotte, Eaton and Sasha. Brogan scored a great individual goal for the home team whose Betty as always caused lots of trouble with her strong and pacy runs. Thanks to Charlie for refereeing, to a sporting Kim and to Terry and Ashley for lining. Player-of-the-match: Dayna, who with her sister Charlotte has supported the team admirably this season - having never missed a match despite having to travel back and forth from Brandon.

BOHEMIANS GIRLS U10 away to Scole, dominated the first half but could turn superiority into goals. Bohs played some nice football and it was gratifying to see the efforts and techniques worked on in training transferring themselves to the pitch. In the second half they changed things around and went behind when a goal- kick was seized upon by the Scole striker. Bohs pressed hard for the equaliser but were undone by a penalty for an accidental handball. The penalty was superbly saved by Megan but the ball fell straight back to the spot-kick taker who fired home the rebound. Efforts from Daisy, Lauren and Bruna all went close. Player-of-the-match: Lauren and Megan.

BOHEMIANS GIRLS U10 away to Thorpe got back on the winning trail 2-0 win. Shannon, in goal, had little to do as the defence, ably marshalled by Alice, saw very little get through. Georgina again got through a tremendous amount of work. The second half saw one of the goals of the season as Lauren stormed through the Thorpe defence and hit a sweetly-struck shot. Georgia was tigerish in midfield, Tati had a solid game, Daisy got herself into some great positions, Megan made some good tackles, Millie showed great tenacity up front and Bruna dazzled with her skills. Thanks to Judith who refereed very well, to Thorpe who are such a pleasure to play against and player-of-the-match went to Georgina. Next match at home to Sprowston, meet Cliff Park 9.15am to receive new kit which has been sponsored by Alpine Cleaning Services. The team is very grateful and indebted to Andy for his kind and generous sponsorship.

GORLESTON RANGERS GIRLS U11 played their final home game of the season against North Walsham. Rangers started with Hannah C in goal, Mary Hannah S and Beth defending, Aimee midfield, Jess and Neve up front. North Walsham hand the upper hand in the first 10 minutes and only good defending and goal keeping prevented them for scoring. Then Aimee struck for the first after some good work from Jess and Neve. The front three are really starting to gel and Aimee grabbed two more goals in the first half. Jane and Gemma came on to give Neve and Jess a breather. Second half Beth was determined in her tackles and there was a rare outing for Hannah C as the versatile Hannah S covered in goal. It was one-way traffic with four more goals for Aimee, two for Neve, one for Jess and an own goal for Rangers to win 11-0. Girl-of-the-match: Aimee. Final league game this week against Bohemians, New Road, Belton (kick-off 10.30am).

CAISTER U9B travelled to play St Benets Wasps in a Division Two encounter and had a comfortable 3-0 win. Alex Q opened the scoring within two minutes, beating two defenders and firing home. Good passing and lots of effort from all the team meant Caister controlled the first half and a delightful move was finished in style by Harry scoring his first goal for the club. There was continued dominance by Caister but it wasn't until two minutes from time that Alex Q forced the ball home from a corner to finally finish off a spirited St Benets Wasps side. Continued improvement by all players is showing that all the training is working. A special mention for Danny playing at right- back and really putting himself about. Man-of-the-match: Daniel Fuery.

CAISTER U9B took on league leaders Kirkley & Pakefield B and held them to a creditable 1-1 draw. Down to the minimum six players, Caister took the game to their opponents in a first half where they controlled and dominated play and midway through a long ball by Will sent Alex Q down the middle. He held off a challenge to finish in style and give Caister a 1-0 half-time lead. Kirkley came back into the game well, although Caister still created chances as Richie hit the bar and also went close with a shot. Alfie again was holding the defence together with good support from Harry, and Danny worked his socks off. Kirkley got a deserved equaliser five minutes from time and both sides still pushed for the winner, but a draw was a fair result. Man-of-the-match: Action man Alex Quinton.

GORLESTON RANGERS U10D visited Bungay Town on Sunday. Captain was William in goal. There was some great play between Liam running the right wing using his speed to great effect and Dan up front for the first time this season. Liam chased what looked like a lost ball right to the line, kept it in and crossed for Dan to score. There was lots of pressure from both teams with

Jack F and Callum making some good clearances and Jack C, Josh S and Michael all having shots saved. Coming back on Daniel was back in centre midfield and making some good tackles and heading the ball clear. Matty was making some good runs and linking up play with Liam using his head to clear the ball from danger. The second half saw Bungay score from a free-kick. Jack C hit a post and Callum had a strike saved. Bungay were awarded a penalty and although William did his best Bungay were in front. The chances were coming thick and fast with Dan having a shot wide and another saved. Liam made a great run down the wing, beating the defender and crossed a great ball into Josh S who could not convert. Jack C had a shot saved and Liam had two shots go inches past the post. Thanks to Jenex for their sponsorship of the away kit and to Paul Brown again for his unbiased refereeing.

GORLESTON RANGERS 12B travelled to Burnt Hill - fourth place playing fifth. Rangers played some exceptionally good football but amazingly found themselves a goal behind after about 10 minutes. What was good to see was the lads kept battling and their efforts were well rewarded when Jack headed in Caleb's delivery after 20 minutes, soon followed up with James also scoring with his head. Second half Rangers took control with James pouncing on a loose ball in the box to grab his second. Minutes later Dan had a shot which took a wicked deflection to beat the keeper to make it four and after 11 minutes Rangers were awarded a free kick just outside the box which Lee placed superbly in the top corner. Just before the end Burnt Hill scored their second to make a final score of 5-2 to Rangers. This was by far the best performance of the season, the lads played to their capability for the whole match. Man-of-the-match was James. Next match is to be played on Gorleston Rec 10am meet against Freethorpe.
