CAISTER U12 had a hard game Sunday against Pakefield A who were first to every ball and were always a threat coming forward. With a lot of ball bouncing around midfield Pakefield broke and went one up, and working hard pushing the ball forward they made it 2-1 before half-time. The second half saw a change around from Caister and the introduction of Daniel progressed Caister into pushing men forward and creating several chances. Caister had a corner which was swung in, for a Pakefield defender to put it into the back of his own net to make it 2-1. Several more chances fell for Caister but they found the Pakefield back four too organised. Pakefield made it three with their quick midfielder running through the Caister defence to slot home a good finish. For the last 15 minutes Caister pushed men forward and Bradley B scrambled home a lifeline to make it 3-2, but Caister couldn't find the equaliser. Final score: Caister 2, Pakefield A 3. CAISTER U9B travelled to Loddon on Sunday and came away with three goals and three points. On a warm morning and a rock hard pitch Will opened the scoring with a mazy run down the left and a crisp shot across the goalie and into the corner. The second just before half-time came as Richie powered through the middle, and as the keeper came out he slipped it past him. Playing downhill, Loddon Grasshoppers forced the game in the second half but with man-of-the-match Ozzy a rock at the back, along with Reece and Danny and Harley chasing non-stop up front, it was left to Alex Q to put the icing on the cake with a spectacular free-kick. Next match against St Benets Wasps at home (ko 12.30pm).

CAISTER U9A are seeking new players for the U10 season. They are seeking between two/three players, to play outfield, to take the current squad to 10/11. Any player who is not currently associated with a side, is in Year Four at junior school, is welcome. Training is on Saturdays from 9-10am at Caister Junior School. COBHOLM BOYS U8 had another hard game but played much better this week. Charlie had a good game at the back and Taylor was strong everywhere. Riley and Bailey worked hard as did Andrew when he came on. Callum had another busy time in goal with some great saves. Keep going boys, we will get there. COBHOLM BOYS U12 enertained Kirkley and Pakefield C. With Cobholm stringing some nice early passes together, Jeremy made it 1-0. Cobholm's passing marking resulted in K&P getting an equaliser. Cobholm then made a few silly mistakes which K&P punished to lead 3-1 at half-time. In the second half Owen pushed the back four up and Hadley and Cameron F worked hard in midfield. The lack of some players' commitment allowed K&P to get on top and they ran out comfortable winners 7-1. Owen, Hadley, Cameron B, Dale, Cameron F and Josh did not drop their heads and battled on, which is what the whole team needs to do for the full game. Man-of-the-match: Owen. COBHOLM BOYS U9 visited a good Kirkley and Pakefield C. Cobholm grew strong quickly and won a corner which Keanan swung in and the keeper pushed over the line for 1-0. Cobholm created more chances in the first half, with Jordan and Shaun staying strong at the back and Keanan and Jacob chasing back to help. Just before half-time K&P equalised with an excellent shot from the halfway line. The second half saw Cobholm step up a gear, quickly making it 2-1 with Jacob controlling and turning the defender inside out before laying the ball off for William F to score. Five minutes later Jacob won a free-kick which Keanan fired into the roof of the net. Cobholm then fell asleep and K&P soon put the game on level terms. In the last few minutes Cobholm threw everything at the K&P goal but the defenders stood strong, leaving it 3-3 at the final whistle. Man-of-the-match went to Jacob for a superb display in midfield. GORLESTON RANGERS U10A played St Benets A. They were soon on the score sheet with a well-taken goal from Harrison T. Soon it was 2-0 after Markus put pressure on a defender who put into his own net. Good saves from the St Benets keeper saw the first half finish 2-0 to Rangers. In the second half Rangers were soon back on top form and with some great passing and using his strength, Harrison T made it three then got his hat-trick after more great play starting with the Rangers keeper and all the boys before another strong run and a great finish from a tight angle. With great one-touch football and great vision the ball ended up at Callum's feet and was soon in the back of the net. Markus popped up at the right place to score. St Benets had a rare brake and gave Rangers' keeper a rare touch of the ball. Harrison T scored yet again. Final score: Rangers 7, St Benets 0. Great work by the team of TJ, Jayden, Harrison C, Hazza, Markus, Alex, Callum, Harrison T and Diogo. Man-of-the-match: Harrison T.

GORLESTON RANGERS U10B entertained Waveney C, Henry and Sam going close. A great corner from Aaron was well met with a good header from Henry which again went close. The B's first goal came from a strong run from Ben who finished well. Joel was next to go close with a fine effort but it was another good corner from Aaron which was slammed home by Joel, his first goal in the Bs' colours. Sam and Lewis also went closes. The second half started with yet another corner from Aaron which was met on the volley by Joel, his goal-bound shot saved well. At the heart of the defence Luis supplied the midfield and behind him was the ever-improving Shaun with some great saves and clearing punches. The third came from another trademark strong run and finish from deep by Ben. Henry got into the action with countless headers followed by a great volley from the edge of the area which hit the bar, the rebound tapped in by Sam. In the final minutes another set piece corner by Aaron found Henry who got a well deserved goal with a fine shot from the edge of the area. GORLESTON RANGERS U8A took on a hard-working Harleston at Lynn Grove last Sunday. Rangers adapted to a new formation. Kier and Brandon did a good job in goal, Brandon, Regan and Tommy rotated to help out in defence with some excellent well-timed challenges and encouraged the forwards to play some great attacking football. Ethan, Cameron, Ben and Tommy did the attacking from midfield and supplyied defence-splitting passes. The striker role rotated between James and Abigail who ran at Harleston's defence, causing it many a problem. All players had opportunities on goal. The team played lovely passing football and were great in going forward and very disciplined at the back. Man-of-the-match: James. Next game away on Sunday against Loddon.

GORLESTON RANGERS U8B visited Shrubland Sharks last Sunday. Jaydn, George, Joe and Ryan played very well in midfield, passing the ball around to create goal scoring chances. In defence, Harrison, Jamie and Logan stood firm, doing their best to keep Shrublands at bay. Ethan, in goal, was again in fine form and made a string of fantastic saves. GORLESTON FC U11 played a very well-organised Kirkley & Pakefield C and lost 8-1. They can learn a lot from this as this is the first season at 11-a-side. Don't be too downhearted we will come back I and your parents believe in you. You just have to believe in yourselves. We did have our moments with some good movement but we need to keep it going for the whole 60 minutes. We have a long way to go and with your help Josh, Ben, Jake, Kyle, Lewis, Aaron, Azza, Tj, Yoyo, Brad D, Brad B, Regan, Tom, Chas and Harvey we will come good lads. GORLESTON FC U16 played away to Horsford in the John Savage Cup. The lads started really well, pressing Horsford early, and were quite dominant in both halves with the ball being played along the floor then switched from side to side. There was a great performance from Millie and Kris in the middle. Ashleigh is getting more confident and Jon the right back is by far the most improved player. Brad C is enjoying himself more now and the lads made me and Mark very proud of what they are achieving; now keep it going with no arguing. Final score: 4-1 to Gorleston. GORLESTON FC U7 played host to Bungay Town. Both teams started strongly with each player showing determination throughout. GFC always looked confident and continued to play strong passes to keep in control. GFC were challenged in their positional play by the manager but each player rose to the task. Once again Gorleston FC's keeper had safe hands, distributing the ball to the outfield players. The defence was strong again with some timely tackles allowing midfield and forwards to play attacking football. A big thanks goes to Johnny Gooch for refereeing the match, which was well supported.

GORLESTON RANGERS U7 BRAZIL visited a well-organised Hemsby Hornets B. Gorleston had to defend most of the first half, with Alex pulling off some good saves, Harry making some great last-ditch defensive tackles with Toby, Josh and Zak getting back to help out. Chester came on late in the first half and helped to put Hemsby under pressure but Gorleston were unable to find the back of the net. In the second half Kyle came on for Gorleston to make a big impression, helping to keep Hemsby camped in their own half for long periods. Zak, Josh and Toby couldn't finish due to a strong Hemsby defence. Despite a more even second half the heat took its toll on Gorleston with some tiring legs. Man-of-the-match went to Kyle for a confident performance. Thanks to all the parents for their continued support.

GORLESTON FC U9A entertained a good St Benets U9A. Gorleston FC opened the score with well-taken goals from Jake, Kallum, Trafford and a penalty from Josh. The boys passed very well and worked as a team with Charlie and Morgan playing their part at the back. All the goals came from good passing and all players getting into space. The boys played well as a team for a 7-0 win. Well done Morgan, Charlie, Josh, Trafford, Kallum and Jake. No match next week. The club are looking for new players to enhance their team. GREAT YARMOUTH TOWN U10 visited a very good Waveney A. Yarmouth were at full strength with Josh Swanston, Kyle Haylock, Alex Sawyer, Bobby Jex, Archie Wallis, Callum Aizlewood, Jordan Rodwell, Thomas Hunter and Thomas Sims. The young Bloaters found themselves a goal behind within 12 seconds, However, they soon showed a lot of character and fought their way back and slowly take control which led to Callum Aizlewood rifling home an equaliser after six minutes. The young Bloaters kept pressurising with good attacks but could not find the second goal which would have killed the game. Overall a good performance after a poor start. Man-of-the-match: Alex Sawyer. Yarmouth welcome new signing Owen Wright and also belated best wishes and good luck to Callum Oliver on his transfer to his new club.

HEMSBY HORNETS A had a great game on Sunday with all the boys playing excellent football. The team: A Long, A Miller, E Skoyles, J Green, J Hartley, K Thompson, L Mcleman. Keep up the great passing.

HEMSBY HORNETS U10B played at Halesworth and lost 3-2. Not a very good performance and the only positive from the game was Louis Skoyle's debut performance. Back to basics now as this should not be happening in the games, all have ability to control and pass the ball, so to be able to win some points back they must be consistent each week and not let our heads drop. Well done to Luke for being voted parents' man-of-the-match. Many thanks to the parents for making the journey to Halesworth, next game at home (kick-off 12.30pm). HEMSBY HORNETS U8B had a tough game against a very good Gorleston. The boys started the game a bit slowly but as the game went on they started to pass the ball around. It's early days and if the boys carry on the way they have been in both their training and in matches the future looks good.

ORMESBY LADS U10 at home to Kirkley & Pakefield F from the off created numerous scoring opportunities with some neat approach work, but a combination of good goalkeeping and wasteful finishing meant there was no early goal with Ben, Leon, Jordan and Carter all failing to connect with good chances. Antonio, in goal, was a virtual spectator as Andrew confidently dealt with the K&P attack. The second half was a repeat of the first with good runs from Jamie, Carter and Ben still failing to provide a goal. Then with 10 minutes left came the breakthrough. Leon made a powerful run down the right and crossed to Jordan, who coolly slotted home his first competitive goal for the team. Victoria came on and almost doubled the lead, but a miscued shot prevented her. Player-of-the-match was Jordan. Thanks to John for refereeing. Next game is away to Harleston at Archbishop Sandicroft School, Harleston (ko 10.30am). Training this week is on Friday from 5-6pm.

SHRUBLANDS U14 played in the Minor Cup against Freethorpe. Shrublands dominated throughout with excellent passing communication and hard work. With Kyle and Jo awesome in the centre of midfield controlling everything and it wasn't long before the goals poured in with nine from Charlie, three each for Jo and Luke, two from Kyle and one each for Curtis and Andrew. The team was solid all match commanding everything with George in goal, the back four unshakeable, the midfield working hard and the front two having a party. This is the best the team have played in a long while. Final score: Shrublands 19, Freethorpe 1. Man-of-the-match: Charlie. Next match home to Waveney (kick-off 10.30am). Meet at Common 10am.

STALHAM YOUTH U10 played Firside on Sunday. Disappointedly they lost 1-0 (from a Firside free-kick). Stalham started slowly and did not look themselves. Josh came on half way into the first half and worked hard. Stalham began to switch on and their work rate was better. The second half saw a much-improved performance. However, they just could not find the back of the net. Troy put in a couple of good crosses and corners but Stalham failed to get on the end of them. Daniel made a couple of excellent runs into good space to shoot. Harry worked hard up front but did not see much of the ball. He fired in a good free-kick which just cleared the bar. Both Joseph and William made some good saves in goal and Chris was strong at the back. Ryan had a great second game and deservedly won player-of-the-match. Jake had another fantastic game in defence.

STALHAM YOUTH U12A played Old Catton A and comfortably won 11-0. Ryan battled well to score the first two, taking the ball round the keeper both times. Matti got the third when Kieran from defence switched the ball over to the left for Matti to beat his defender, finishing nicely. Tom put a nice ball out to Adam who crossed for Ryan to finish at back post. Rylan then fired over a good corner, which Ryan buried from close range. Just before half-time Dom M passed the ball for Ryan to make it 6-0. In the second half the goals continued to flow with Ryan netting yet again from a good ball through from Adam. Aiden, who had battled hard throughout, hit a high ball into the air for Adam to sprint in and head home superbly. Matti tried a shot from distance that slipped through the keeper's hands to make it 9-0. Adam made it 10 by calmly placing the ball past the keeper. Ryan then scored his seventh from a superb corner by Dom M. Player-of-the-match: Ryan. Kieran and Tom had great games and Luke and Andy had excellent debuts.
