King's Lynn boss Carl Heggs yesterday backed Mansfield loan signing Jason Bradley to fill the void left by injured top scorer Gareth Sheldon.

Bradley is poised for his Linnets' debut in tomorrow's Unibond Premier Division home fixture against Bradford PA after agreeing an initial three month switch.

Heggs has also clinched a one month loan deal for long time Leicester target Lathanial Rowe-Turner and the 19-year-old defender will also feature at The Walks - subject to club officials completing the paperwork.

The Linnets' chief also made inquiries for Burton hitman Aaron Brown and Bradley's Stags' team mate Daryl Clare as he bids to beef up his squad following a trio of midweek departures. Rushden youngster Bobby Aisien made his debut in Tuesday's Buxton defeat while Heggs has made seven day approaches for a central midfielder and wide player.

“We've had a few knock backs along the way but my persistence has paid off,” said Heggs. “David Holdsworth at Mansfield has been good as gold. Jason is a fine young prospect who had a few injuries last season but David is doing me a massive favour. He scored something like 18 goals in 16 games at this level for Buxton when he was 18 and he's been out at Darlington and Newport as well.

“I did ask about Clare because he had not been playing regularly and Mansfield would have helped us out on the financial side but as soon as he heard we were in the Unibond he didn't want to know. Losing Shelly is a massive blow and we need players of this calibre to come in and do us a job short term.”

Foxes' reserve skipper Rowe-Turner adds youthful competition to an increasingly competitive central defence alongside Aisien and skipper Andy Boyce.

“Lathanial is a very good centre half who I wanted to bring in from the start of the season,” said Heggs. “Bobby made a mistake at Buxton for the winning goal but he will be an asset and he can play right back as well. I just want more options because the biggest thing since I came in is we're not keeping clean sheets. If you offered me a clean sheet or going one up in a game right now I'd take the clean sheet because that would mean getting a result.”

Diamonds' assistant boss Michael Stone believes Nigerian youth international Aisien will benefit from his short term spell at The Walks.

“King's Lynn have a very good set up over there and they run things very professionally,” said Stone. “He'll continue training with us full time and over the next three or four weeks get some minutes which will keep his sharpness there.

“Bobby was always bought in as one for the future rather than perhaps straight away. He came in the squad quite soon due to the injuries we've picked up and suspension. So that's a good opportunity for him to go out there, play some valuable minutes and be knocking on the door here to come back into the squad.”

Nantwich will now visit The Walks in a re-arranged Unibond Premier Division fixture on Saturday, September 26 after both clubs faced a blank weekend following FA Cup exits.
