HETHERSETT Athletic Ladies finished their season by snatching third place in the Eastern Region Women’s Premier Division with a last-gasp effort at home to Stevenage.
Hethersett had the majority of the play in the first half but found themselves 2-0 down at half-time as they allowed Stevenage to twice break away to score and then missed numerous chances themselves.
Hethersett dominated after the break and Jenna Thirtle drilled home a free-kick from the edge of the area to reduce the deficit.
Hethersett continued to push forward and strong runs from Megan Todd brought firstly an equaliser and then a winner in injury time with the referee adding on 10 minutes for a number of lengthy stoppages.
Final score: Hethersett 3, Stevenage 2
