The Trawlerboys' sixth successive victory took their lengthening unbeaten run to 16 games in Ryman League Division One North despite an injury-hit start.

At Scraley Road, Matt Nolan returned in the only change to the starting line up. However, Lowestoft were forced into an early change as Fiston Manuella's reckless tackle on Matthew Halliday earned the Swifts' player a booking but forced the Blues' central defender out of the fray.

Matty Potter substituted after just four minutes. Reece Morgan followed his Heybridge team-mate into the referee's book.

Once the game settled down it was Heybridge who had the first goal attempt with Ricky Griggs' corner headed goalwards by Wayne Semanshia, but Andy Reynolds stretched high in a crowd of players to collect the ball beneath the bar.

Lowestoft took the lead in the 21st minute with their first real threat on the Heybridge goal.

Phil Goodwin miscontrolled the ball and Matt Nolan was quick to pounce and send Joe Francis away down the left. His cross to the far post set up Andrew Fisk to bravely head home before crashing into the post.

Reece Morgan raced clear for a one-on-one with Reynolds but the Blues' keeper produced an excellent diving save.

In a half of few chances Joe Francis saw his free-kick punched away by Jamie Bowyer under pressure from Gary McGee. Craig Bussens saw a header drift wide of the Heybridge goal and Jamie Bowyer did well to push a Joe Francis free-kick over the bar.

Lowestoft took a firm grip on the game in the second half with a Francis free-kick dipping just over the bar before two goals in a four-minute spell sealed the win.

In the 51st minute an Adam Smith free-kick from the left allowed Neil Plaskett to race in to power home a header.

Four minutes later Smith changed flanks to take another free-kick and this time the merest of touches by McGee put the ball into the net.

A rare Heybridge attack saw Ricky Griggs denied by another fine save from Reynolds, but is was mainly Lowestoft on the offensive.

A Plaskett cross saw substitute Danny Bloomfield's header saved by Bowyer and a flowing move featuring Smith, Francis and Dale Cockrill ended with the letter's shot scraping the post.

Any chance of a Heybridge comeback was dispelled in the 77th minute with Phil Goodwin sent off for two yellow cards for dissent.

With Cockrill and Matty Potter dominant in the centre of the Blues' defence there was no way back for Heybridge with the final chance falling to Cockrill, whose header brought a superb tip-over from Bowyer.
