At Scraley Road, Matt Nolan returned in the only change to the starting line up. However, Lowestoft were forced into an early change as Fiston Manuella's reckless tackle on Matthew Halliday earned the Swifts' player a booking but forced the Blues' central defender out of the fray.

Matty Potter substituted after just four minutes. Reece Morgan followed his Heybridge team-mate into the referee's book.

Once the game settled down it was Heybridge who had the first goal attempt with Ricky Griggs' corner headed goalwards by Wayne Semanshia, but Andy Reynolds stretched high in a crowd of players to collect the ball beneath the bar.
