Winger Wes Hoolahan is hoping to be back in action for the Canaries in their second tour match in Sweden - ahead of his return to more familiar surroundings at Carrow Road.

Wes Hoolahan has declared himself fit for tonight's Swedish tour finale against Superettan outfit Falkenbergs FF.

The Republic of Ireland international sat out the 2-1 victory over Ahlafors IF after suffering a thigh strain in an impressive goal scoring second half cameo at Gorleston.

“I've been injured the last few days but I hope I'll be back,” said Hoolahan, speaking from the team hotel. “Fitness wise I'm good but I got a little niggle on my quad, but I did a light training session yesterday and I hope I'll be in the squad.”

Hoolahan's move from Blackpool was long and drawn out but, once City return from Sweden, he's looking forward to his first appearance in front of home fans on the same ground where he played for the Seasiders in the FA Cup two seasons ago, and the Championship last season.

“It seemed to take for ages, like last year with Blackpool. I'm just glad to be a Norwich player and hope to do well for them this season,” he said.

“When I played there for Blackpool there was great support from the Norwich fans - 20,000-plus - so I'm going to enjoy it. My side of the game is to attack players and create a lot of opportunities. The boys are fantastic and I hope we'll enjoy the season and push for promotion.”
