After four wins from four in pre season Hoveton entered this first league encounter on a high. With the prolific James Clifton on holiday along with wide man Matt McKinstry, Jon Powley brought in new signing Ben Eyre.

Eyre did not take long to make a mark on his debut, scoring a well taken hat-trick within 30 minutes. This all but killed off the opposition and allowed Hoveton to relax and enjoy their football. New signing Aldridge went off just before half-time with a thigh strain after an impressive league debut. Eyre found his fourth to make it 4-0 at half-time.

The second half continued as the first, despite a consolation goal and some early pressure from CNSOBU, Hoveton continued their quick passing game to add a further four goals. Ben Eyre got seven on his debut with Sandell also getting one. Paul Walton, Jamie Kett, Ben Eyre and Lee Aldridge all made impressive debuts. Hoveton thank Regency Security for sponsorship of their new kit. The Wherrymen now look forward to the visit of Sheringham next Wednesday.
