King's Lynn boss Keith Webb is backing his men to pass today's Southern League Premier Division exam at Team Bath with flying colours.

Webb expects Lynn's unbeaten New Year start to continue at the play-off chasing students, but warns the time has come for the visitors to slip through the gears.

The Linnets chief wants no repeat of last week's anaemic goal-less home draw against lowly Clevedon.

"Expectations at this club are massive," he said. "Rightly so, they should be and the players have to understand that. Our aim is to get out of this league and get into the Conference set-up.

"We've got players who have been around the game and they should be capable of handling the pressure.

"Clubs are going to make things difficult for us. Supporters want attractive football, I want attractive football, and we have those type of players at the club but it's not always about stringing 20 passes together - you have to do the ugly side, especially at this time of year."

Webb's hopes of a swift midweek Clevedon antidote were dashed through a second successive rain-off.

"It's more than frustrating, to say the least," he said. "Everyone says it's better to have the points than the games in hand. You look at the table and some teams have played a lot more matches.

"We've got many of those clubs over the run in and I still feel it's in our own hands. If we don't use every advantage going for us we don't deserve to go up.

"We trained midweek instead and the quality was top notch. I know people were peeved after Clevedon - I was - but in the cold light of day seven points out of nine is a good return.

"Let's not kid anyone, the performance wasn't great, I'm just looking at the bigger picture. If we'd beaten Clevedon and drawn at Chippenham instead of the other way around, we'd have been jumping through hoops."

Andrew Cave Brown (knee) is included in the Twerton Park travelling party. Mark Warren returns after serving his one match ban along with Lewis Blois. Duncan McAnally provides back up to regular keeper Shaun Marshall following John Higgs' departure.

Team Bath boss Andy Tillson is poised to give his fringe players a rare outing with left-back Andy Reilly unavailable and centre-back Adam Green (hip) injured. Midfielder Marc Canham is on England fustal duty in Romania.

"Some lads who've been patient so far will get their chance," he promised. "King's Lynn are a good side. We watched the Chippenham game.

"We've got a game plan and we'll have a good go at them. They're a big club, but we're capable of doing very well against them."
