King's Lynn 1, Leicester XI 3
Matt Birley's first half opener for the Linnets was cancelled out by three second half strikes from the Championship side in today's pre-season friendly at The Walks.
Birley tapped into an empty net following good work by the impressive Owen Story to nudge Carl Heggs' men ahead. Jorrin John lashed past Daniel Whatsize on 77 minutes before powerful striker Ricky Sappleton scuffed home a minute later and then calmly rolled underneath Whatsize in the 89th minute.
Heggs included two trialists in his starting line up - former Doncaster centre half Andy Boyce and ex-Aston Villa youngster Phil Green. Lynn officials expect to tie up a deal for Boyce over the weekend.
King's Lynn: Whatsize, Magunda, Martin, McAughtrie (Smedley 90), Boyce, Lloyd (Webb 73), Story (Moran 81), Johnson, Sheldon (Robinson), Birley, Green (Edwards 45). Sub (not used): Emery.
Leicester (starting XI): Cisak, Milnes, Rone Turner, Wesolowski, Bulgar, Parkes, Hayes, Verma, Kee, Campbell, Douglas.
